Modern medicine does not promise a complete cure but whereas Ayurveda ensures better  treatment for arthritis According to Ayurveda most of the pains associated with arthritis is as a result of accumulation of vata (air) and ama(a by-product of improper digestion) and can be treated with proper diet regimen, relaxation and massaging with medicated oils and medicines taken internally as advised by the medical practitioner. However one might wonder why this is the case in some and not all. The physiology of the body varies for all and what might be unacceptable to the stomach for one may not harm another at all. The same principle is advocated in Ayurveda the medicines and diet regimen advised for one with arthritis may not be the same for the other. Hence this custom tailored treatment regimen requires the patient to take the mode of treatment seriously and should prepare the mind and the body for the same as junk foods and late night parties are strictly to be avoided as the body should be able to absorb the medicines and since the patient is weak he must get adequate ret and sleep. Normally foods that aggravate the gas formation like cabbage, lettuce or very spicy foods are to be avoided. Among the foods to be avoided the list also includes non-vegetarian foods and aerated drinks. Some home remedies like green lentil soups, the use of castor oil reduce the aggravation of the pain and meditation and relaxation have also proved to be effective.
